Like a lot of people, I was sickened every day of that summer by the conduct of U.S. Police, who validated the need for civil unrest at every single turn, with countless acts of unrestrained and unprovoked brutality.

Wheel Chair Man (unfinished)
I saw this guy in photos taken in Downtown L.A. a few days after George Floyd's murder. He was in his chair, in the middle of the street in front of a line of cops, who somehow determined him to be a threat and fired beer can sized non-lethal rounds directly into his face.

My original plan was to make an Officer Friendly series of three:
#1 being the one above, #2 featuring Wheelchair Man, and #3 with Fearless Boy (below). But by the time I'd finished the first one, along with these two ancillary characters, I just wanted to think about something else, to be completely honest.
Staring at upsetting reference material for months on end while immersed in projects revolving around things/people/institutions I loathe can sometimes take a toll; Not gonna lie.
